Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber (bapt. 12 August 1644 – 3 May 1704) was one of the most important violinists of the 17th century. As is often the case in this period we do not know his exact birth date.

Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber,

I admire your new bravura

Use of varied scordatura,

But I wish that less had got in-
