David Tudor (20 January 1926 – 13 August 1996) was an early advocate many experimental composers including Boulez, Stockhausen, and especially John Cage.

Be the piano piece ever so hard,

So extreme, so outré, avant-garde,

Whether noted abstractly,

By chance, or exactly,

David Tudor got through it unscarred.
