(Un)Fancy Nancy
During her performing career, Wilson was labeled a singer of blues, jazz,, R&B, pop, and soul;... The title she preferred, however, was "song stylist". -- Wikipedia
When Nancy Wilson, singing jazz,
Declared herself a “stylist,”
She shied away from razzmatazz.
(Which puts her high on my list.)
And if she never topped the charts,
She sang for fifty years,
Admired by her counterparts.
Applauded by her peers.
