Hans Werner Henze (1 July 1926 – 27 October 2012) was an important German composer of the mid/late 20th century. The ideas expressed in the verse below are entirely speculative.

Henze lived with his partner Fausto Moroni from the early sixties, and Moroni planned and planted the hillside garden around La Leprara. -- Wikipedia
Eventually, he made his home in Marino, south-east of Rome, with his partner of more than 40 years, Fausto Moroni, whose quiet fortitude helped enable Henze to weather personal crises in the early 1970s. -- Guy Richards, The Guardian, 27 October 2012
While Fausto was planting the garden,
Hans Werner was scribbling scores.
There’s no reason for pity or pardon
That Fausto got stuck with the chores.
The roles in a couple’s lives harden --
It’s probably happened in yours.
