Like Father?

His father wanted him to choose a career in the Austrian Habsburg military. --- Wikipedia

Josef Strauss took up

The family line,

Of writing and playing the waltz.

It’s a thing you can look up,

He came out just fine,

But were there, I wonder, some faults?

Why was it his father

Suggested he go

For a career filled with pomp and parade?

How much did it bother

Young Josef to know

That they wanted him out of the trade?

Pioneer

Most of Elisabeth Sophie 's compositions are hymns or devotional arias. Some printed in 1651 are believed to have been the first music published by a woman in Germany. ---- adapted from Wikipedia

The Duchess Elisabeth Sophie

Deserved to be given a trophy.

As the first in a dress

To have music in press,

And likely for little or no fee.
