Arthur Johnston (10 January 1898 – 1 May 1954) was an American composer, conductor, pianist and arranger.

Laugh, Clown, Laugh

Arthur Johnston’s claim to fame

Includes the ballad “My Old Flame,”

He also wrote “Cocktails for Two,”

Which tells what such a drink will do.

Ironically, they’re mostly heard

In those disturbingly absurd,

And anarchistic recreations

With wacky Spike Jones machinations.
