Max Reger (19 March 1873 – 11 May 1916) was a German composer who had an unrivaled command of counterpoint and late Romantic chromaticism. Critical opinion varies as to whether this was for better or for worse.
It's Not the Destination, but the Journey
Could obfuscate tonality.
He’d start and end within a key
Like C, or D, or G, or E,
But in between was found to be
In complications, floating free,
A boater on a stormy sea.
