Carl Orff (10 July 1895 – 29 March 1982) is largely remembered for his enduringly popular Carmina Burana, and his pedagogical Schulwerk.

Semper crescis
It always makes me sort of sad
When “O fortuna’s” in an ad.
And yet, no doubt, this hymn to Fate
Makes money for the Orff estate,
And infra dig as they may find it,
I’ll bet his happy heirs don’t mind it.
