Kazimierz Serocki (3 March 1922 – 9 January 1981) was a Polish composer and one of the founders of the Warsaw Autumn contemporary music festival.

 



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I Wish to Go to the Festival


Warsaw Autumn (Warszawska JesieÅ„) was founded in 1956 by two composers, Tadeusz Baird and Kazimierz Serockii. The festival's leading aim was (and is) to present new music from Poland and around the world. – adapted from Wikipedia, s.v. “Warsaw Autumn”


Serocki found the avant-garde

Existed in his own backyard,

And Warsaw Autumn, which he founded

Showed off how this music sounded.


It was, indeed, a noble goal and

Was well received in Warsaw, Poland.

Margaret Bonds (3 March 1913 – 26 April 1972) was an American composer, pianist, arranger, and teacher. She was one of the first Black composers and performers to gain recognition in the United States.
