Woodn't You?
We sing the praise of Henry Wood,
At least, I think, we surely should.
(He did the world a world of good.)
While leading music at the Proms
He programmed Beethoven and Brahms
To supplement the lighter fare
That likely was expected there.
The Proms are there for all to hear,
Anticipated year by year,
And even still the name is odd
Since no one’s there to promenade.
