Edward Burlingame Hill (9 September 1872 – 9 July 1960) was an American composer and music professor.
Being There
He joined the Harvard faculty in 1908, remaining until his retirement in 1940. His later-famous pupils included Leonard Bernstein, Roger Sessions, Elliott Carter, Walter Piston, Ross Lee Finney, and Virgil Thomson. – Wikipedia
Though Hill as composer was minor,
By a quirk of the Cosmic Designer,
He taught, in his prime,
At the right place and time,
And his legacy couldn’t be finer.
