Arthur Fiedler (17 December 1894 – 10 July 1979) was the beloved longtime conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra.

Arthur Fiedler played the fiddle,

   But switched to the baton,

He aimed at an aesthetic middle

   And programmed thereupon.

His concerts never raised an eyebrow,

   He gave a pleasant show,

The Boston Pops was never highbrow,

   But never stooped too low.
