Heinrich Marschner (16 August 1795 – 14 December 1861) was an important composer of German opera.
Blood Lines
Marschner, when he wrote Vampyr
Tapped into a primal fear
Of bloody creatures of the night,
And though it seems a trifle trite,
Had Marschner not composed this terror
His name would now be even rarer.
