Old and New

On January 25, he presents a program that places Beethoven between Schönberg and Stockhausen at the Philharmonie de Paris. - concert announcement at pierrelaurentaimard.com

Pierre-Laurent Aimard one day

Agreed in an obliging way

To do a casual Q and A.

They asked him why he chose to play

The crazy music of today.

He answered, “It’s the truth, my friends,,

I like to try the latest trends,

(Without the new, the music ends.)

But, yes, I know that it offends,

And this is how I make amends --

Now and then, I take the step

Of programming some standard rep.
