Lou Harrison (14 May 1917 –2 February 2003) was an American composer with a particular interest in unusual tuning systems and non-Western instruments.

Lou Harrison knitted and purled
With the musical sounds of the world.
His pieces abound
With the sounds that he found,
Which are tooted, and hammered, and skirled.
