Dorothy Fields Forever

It’s rare that a lyricist wields

Their rhymes like the great Dorothy Fields.

You could mount a revue,

But you’d never get through

All the corkers her catalog yields.

The Invisibility Paradox

Miss Fields, whose name was routine

In the credits on stage and on screen,

Remains, all the same,

A non-household name,

Though her lyrics remain evergreen.
