Charles Anthony (15 July 1929 – 15 February 2012) was an American operatic tenor his portrayal of comprimario characters.

As he neared his 3000th appearance;
For fifty-six years he performed each vignette
With often-remarked perseverance.
He played tiny parts that were needed to get
A plot moving on with coherence,
And the principal stars were becalmed on the set
Until his propitious appearance.
