Another Trip Around
Today, as he turns sixty-nine,
He will neither harangue nor opine,
But he wants to be clear
That surviving a year
Is a rather encouraging sign.

When you thought that it couldn’t get worse,
He embarked on a new year of verse,
You can bet ten to one, he
Will try to be funny
‘Til they take him away in the hearse.
