Staying at Home

He is generally referred to as "the father of Polish national opera." Wikipedia

Moniusko was a loyal Pole

Who had the lofty loyal goal

Of filling an artistic hole and

Bring the operatic art to Poland.

He had success, he had his career,

But time has made it pretty clear

That he will never catch the ear

Outside his native Polish sphere.
