Alban Berg (9 February 1885 – 24 December 1935) was a great Austrian composer mostly in atonal and serial styles.

When Alban read Woyzeck (the play),

He was gobstruck and blown away,

So he set the whole text

In a style that has vexed

The public from then to today.

It was never what patrons preferred;

But there always were some,

(Thought there's nothing to hum),

Whose emotions were shaken and stirred.
