Nellie Melba (19 May 1861 – 23 February 1931) was an Australia coloratura soprano who was one of the most widely admired singers of her time.

Nellie Melba graced the stages
Of one of singing Golden Ages,
The first soprano from Down Under
To fill the music world with wonder,
And thus it is her famous throat
Is on their hundred dollar note.
