February 23 - John Blow; George Frideric Handel (The Musical Birthday Series, 2nd Annual Cycle)

John Blow (bapt. 23 February 1649 – 1 October 1708) was a significant English composer and organist.

The composer John Blow,

As you possibly know,

   Composed for the Anglican ritual,

Where choirs of boys

Making treble-voiced noise

   Remains, to the present, habitual.
