Domenico Gabrielli (15 April 1651 or 19 October 1659 [sic] – 10 July 1690) was an Italian composer and one of the earliest known virtuoso cello players.  He is no relation of the more famous Gabrieli family of musicians and spelled his named differently.

First Chair Cello

He was one of the 1st great masters of the cello, both as a performer and as a composer for the instrument. -- Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians (8th ed.)

Domenico Gabrielli

Wrote several works for celli,

In this he showed his pioneering attitude.

So if you play the cello,

You can think about this fellow,

As you open up your cello case, with gratitude.
