Yip Harburg (8 April 1896 –5  March 1981) was an American popular song lyricist land librettist who worked with many well-known composers, and best known for his lyrics for The Wizard of Oz.

It wasn’t hip,

But Ira and Yip

Learned craftsmanship

    By knowing their G & S

Whose verbal zip

In quibble and quip
