++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Vincenzo Righini (22 January 1756 – 19 August 1812) was an Italian composer, singer and Kapellmeister, who spent most of his creative life in German-speaking countries.
Sad Ending
Righini's version of the Don Giovanni story, Il convitato di pietra, while less ambitious than Mozart's, is its direct predecessor in both Prague and Vienna, and thus warrants close inspection. -- adapted from David J. Buch, "The Don Juan Tradition, Eighteenth-Century Musical Theatre and Vincenzo Righini's 'Il convitato di pietra'"
Of course Righini couldn't know
The future so he had a go
At setting a familiar plot
Which had success, but it was not
The sort of thing that could live on
Once Mozart set his own Don Juan.
Charles Tournemire (22 January 1870 – 3 or 4 November 1939) was a French composer and organist.
Fact Are Facts
Unless you play the organ as your career
You’ve probably never heard of Tournemire.
