Victor Schertzinger (8 April 1888 – 26 October 1941) was an American composer, film director, film producer, and screenwriter.

By taking on divergent roles.
He directed fifty films or more,
And very often wrote the score.
How rare it is, and unsuspected,
That someone both composed and directed;
And how does one who has such talents
Keep artistic life in balance.
