Wandering One

Her Pirates should not have been heard!

The idea, from the start, was absurd;

And Ronstadt as Mabel

Left pundits unable

To explain how the casting occurred.

Binge Listening

Mantovani worked with arranger and composer Ronald Binge, who developed the "cascading strings"  effect (also known as the "Mantovani sound"). -- Wikipedia, s.v. "Mantovani"

I’ve never heard of Ronald Binge,

Which I admit with just a tinge

Of guilt, or better put, dismay,

Because it seems that in his day,

This Ronald Binge was he who found

The key to Mantovani’s sound,

Where strings cascading as a group

Provide a sort of seasick swoop.

You might have heard this sound and cringed

While never knowing you’d been Binged,
