Thomas Lupo the elder (baptised 7 August 1571 – probably December 1627) was an English composer and viol player.

The chance, I know, is quite remote
That you will know his style,
But Thomas Lupo (Elder) wrote
Great music for the viol,
Which should have kept his name afloat,
But much was lost meanwhile.
