Hip Hooray for HH

Many critics found his piano style showy and shallow. Robert Schumann was among those who criticized it, but his wife Clara saw in it the praiseworthy quality that it could challenge a performer's interpretation. -- adapted from Wikipedia

Henri Herz, whose fingers glittered

Through compositions which were littered

With scales, arpeggios, and trills,

And other virtuosic thrills,

Never had it as his goal

To nourish the artistic soul,

But if you're seeking hot shot fun,

Henri Herz would be the one!
