Takin' a Jamaican Example

In 1966, Marley married, and moved near his mother's residence in Wilmington, Delaware for a short time, during which he worked as a DuPont lab assistant and on the assembly line at a Chrysler plant in nearby Newark, under the alias Donald Marley. --adapted from Wikipedia

If you feel in depths of your gut

That your musical life’s in a rut,

Take heart! Persevere!

Believe in your career!

Bob Marley’s example

Provides you with ample

Reasons to get off of your butt!

Natalie Cole (6 February 1950 – 31 December 2015) was an popular American singer. (This verse originally appeared on this blog last year.) [This post is in celebration of Black History Month.]

Duo

To sing duets with your dead dad,
  -- A most unlikely twosome.
Perhaps the thing is kind of sad,
-- Or is it kind of gruesome?

Natalie Cole decided to try it.
  -- Recording with the dead.
And boy oh boy, did people buy it!
-- That much must be said.
