Saved by the Bell

... and Lakmé is revived from time to time in opera houses.-- Wikipedia

The opera has a tête-à-tête

We’ve come to call the “Flower Duet”,

The diva (solo) has a swell song

Which we’ve come to call the “Bell Song”.

And so from time to time you may

See revivals of Lakmé.

Formal Thoughts

Kalivoda "represents a sort of symphonic 'missing link' between Beethoven and Schumann," writes the critic David Hurwitz. -- Wikipedia.

You’ll find that there are those who think

That Kalliwoda was the link,

(Although the gap is not gigantic),

Between the Classic and Romantic.

Thus, Johann Wenzel Kalliwoda

Was development, not a coda.
