Florence Price (9 April 1887 – 3 June 1953) was an American composer, pianist, organist, and music teacher.

Florence Price, at least, of late
Is sometimes numbered with the great;
It’s true she long was under-rated,
But has her station been inflated?
Reputations falls and rise,
And in such cases, it is wise
To shun the hoopla and the noise
‘Til judgement reaches equipoise.
