Lotte Lenya’s grainy voice

May not be your teacher’s choice,

But Lotte Lenya as a stylist

Was certainly the Brecht and Weill-est.

The Schubert Circuit

Rise today and give a hand

To Franz’s brother Ferdinand,

Who took his little bro’s estate

And sold it at the going rate

To a firm that didn’t stint

To get the whole of it in print.

Be kind and helpful to each other,

Honor father and your mother,

And don’t forget your younger brother.
