Sing, Sing a Song

His songs treat sex, love, women, his own sexual and literary prowess, and feudal politics. It is possible that at least part of his dissolute reputation is based not on facts, but on literal interpretation of his songs, written in first person. - adapted from Wikipedia

William the Ninth, a troubadour,

    And the Duke of Aquitaine,

Wrote his songs of love and war,

   To celebrate his ducal reign.

But when he boasts about his prowess

    Or of his personal gestalt,

There are reasons which allow us

To take him with a grain of salt.
