Sic transit gloria

In fact, until the outbreak of World War I, Wolf-Ferrari's operas were among the most performed in the world.  -- Wikipedia

Wolf-Ferrari for a time

     Was right at the top of the heap.

But after a successful climb.

     The path coming down can be steep!

In memoriam: Wolf-Ferrari

It was after the First World War,

And nothing was like as before;

The war and its waste

Had changed public taste

In ways it was hard to ignore.
