Roger Wagner (16 January 1914 – 17 September 1992) was an American choral musician, administrator, and educator. He founded the Roger Wagner Chorale, which became one of America's premier vocal ensembles.
An Essay on Taste
The records Roger Wagner made
With passing time began to fade.
Though once they were the choral pinnacle,
In later times we grew more cynical
And choral taste became more clinical,
Those old arrangements, rich and lush,
That choral sound so smooth and plush,
In later decades makes us blush.
