Christoph Nichelmann (13 August 1717 – 20 July 1762) was a German composer and harpsichordist.

Christoph Nichelmann’s resumé boldly featured
A list of men by whom he had been teachered.
When still a boy, and singing treble clef,
He learned from Bach, J.S. and W.F.
He later grew professionally wiser
With Telemann and Mattheson and Keiser;
And later still, before he found renown,
He benefited much from Quantz and Graun.
With all that training Christoph likely reckoned
That he would play as first, instead of second,
But work for Fred the Great was mighty big,
So Christoph bought a fancy formal wig,
And spent a fruitful decade in the gig.
