Third Variation on a First Line (see November 6, 2022)

A bourbon cask whisky at 41% abv. The 5th in our series was launched on the 29th of November 2016 and celebrates Welsh opera singer Bryn Terfel and, more specifically, his favourite role, Falstaff.  – product description at uptownspirits.com

Bryn Terfel, a singer from Wales,

Was trying out various ales,

He much preferred whisky,

But found it more risky,

For the smooth execution of scales.

Verismo Machismo

In all his La Scala roles, Pertile achieved compelling dramatic results despite possessing a voice that was not especially suave or beautiful. It was sometimes even described by critics as "brutta" (ugly). – Wikipedia

Of the tenors on 78s,

He counted as one of the greats,

Though collectors have found

That the Pertile sound

Can lead to tendentious debates.
