Not That Prince
Carafa was born the second son of Giovanni Carafe, prince of Colubrano. He was given a solid musical education. He moved in 1806 to Paris, where he was taught
composition by Luigi Cherubini and piano by Friedrich Kalkbrenner. -- adapted from Wikipedia
Carafa, the son of a prince,
Was taught by the best;
It didn’t much matter though, since
His work was assessed
As lacking the strength to convince
When put to the test.
