Father Alberich Zwyssig (17 November 1808 – 18 November 1854) was a Cistercian monk who composed the Swiss National Anthem.

Alpine Anthem

Because Switzerland has four national languages, the lyrics of the original German song were translated into the other three national languages: French, Italian, and Romansh. -- Wikipedia

Alberich Zwyssig, monk and priest,

   May be easy to dismiss,

But before you do, at least,

Think about our friends, the Swiss.

Zwyssig wrote the stirring song

   That the patriotic Swiss

Sing when sentiments are strong -

   Honor Zwyssig, then, for this.

And the Swiss with lusty lungs,

   Filled with healthful mountain air,

Sing it in the several tongues

   Which are all official there.
