Charles Theodore Pachelbel (bapt. 24 November 1690 - buried 15 September 1750, son of Johann Pachelbel, was a German composer, organist, and harpsichordist. He spent the later part of his career in North America, principally in Charleston, South Carolina.

Packed his trunks and crossed the sea
As a stratagem to flee
From Johann’s Canon (key of D).
