Rudolph Reti (27 November 1885 – 7 February 1957), was a music theorist, composer and pianist.
Don't Disturb Me, I'm Thematic Processing
Reti is best remembered today for his distinctive method of musical analysis, which he claimed revealed the ‘thematic process' in music. His has been criticized as having been over-concerned with proving the validity of his method, at the expense of producing convincing analyses of individual works. -- adapted from Wikipedia
If you read him, you’ll grow weary
Of Rudolph Reti and his theory,
Which, to summarize, affirms
That music grows from tiny germs
Sadly, in this case we’re dealing
With a theory so free-wheeling
That if you seek it you can find,
In any tune that comes to mind,
Motivic proof that it’s the brother
Of just about most any other.

Margaret Ruthven Lang (27 November 1867 – 29 May 1972) was an American composer, remembered chiefly for her songs.
Auld Lang Syne
Many of Margaret's songs were very popular during her lifetime. -- Wikipedia
Concert singers often sang
The songs of Margaret Ruthven Lang,
And still, sometimes, a few of these
Are printed in anthologies.
If you explore them you will hear
The fragile charm of yesteryear.
