December 20 - Henry Hadley (The Musical Birthday Series)

Henry Hadley (20 December 1871 – 6 September 1937) was a composer and conductor.  Though once one of the most performed and widely published American composers, and though he was the founding conductor of both the San Francisco Symphony and the Tanglewood Festival, he is largely forgotten.

And So It Goes

Sing, O Muse, of Henry Hadley.
Once important, but now (sadly)
Needs resuscitation badly.
No one, though, would do this gladly,
So, alas, for Henry Hadley.
