Bobby Helms (15 August 1933 – 19 June 1997) was an American country singer, who is best remembered for his 1957 Christmas hit "Jingle Bell Rock".

Today is his birthday, let’s greet Bobby Helms!
Though it’s not ‘til December that Helms overwhelms
Our seasonal playlists all ‘round the clock
With his seasonal novelty “Jingle Bell Rock”.
There are songs about angels in realms of glory,
But they’re not apparent in Helms’s story
With its jingle-bell horses, and jingle-bell square
It is, you’ll acknowledge, a mindless affair;
And it’s hard to explain how this slight bagatelle
Has lasted for decades, and lasted so well.
