Luigi Marchesi (8 August 1754 – 14 December 1829) was a prominent and charismatic Italian castrato singer.

As an artist Marchesi was certainly one of the greatest singers of his time. In person Marchesi might have been the handsomest castrato of all time. – adapted from Wikipedia

Marchesi was reckoned the reigning

Castrato in talent and training.

He had looks and technique,

And was terribly chic,

With only one cause for complaining.
