Maurice Jarre (13 September 1924 – 28 March 2009) was a French composer and conductor remembered for many film scores including Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago.

And resisted the thought of succumbing,
Discovered one day
With a touch of dismay
It was Schoenberg he found himself humming.
