Henry Smart (26 October 1813 – 6 July 1879) was an English organist and composer best known for his Christmas hymn tune "Regent Square" most often sung to the words "Angels from the Realms of Glory".
That Smarts!
Sing, oh sing, for Henry Smart
Who spent a lifetime at his art,
And had just one enduring hit,
Which counts for something, doesn’t it?
“Angels from the Realms of Glory”,
Got into the repertory;
Grab a hymn book, and it’s there,
Listed under “Regent Square”.
