Enrico Caruso (25 February 1873 – 2 August 1921) was an Italian tenor generally acknowledged as one of the greatest tenors of all time.
O Sole Mio
Even now, a century later
There has been no tenor greater;
Every passing generation
Adds their dash of veneration.
Aspiring tenors have no choice,
They can’t avoid his golden voice,
And judged by that unfair comparison
Will likely find it all embarrassin’.
