Star from the Start
Berganza made her operatic debut in 1957 at the Aix-en-Province Festival. That same year, she made her La Scala debut and the following year her debut at Glundebourne. In 1959, Berganza made her first appearances at the Covent Garden Royal Opera House. -- adapted from Wikipedia
Teresa Berganza’s debut,
Which happened at age 22,
Got such a response
In Aix-en-Provence,
That others were wanting her too.
She sang with such charms and agility,
With an added soupçon of fragility,
That later that year
She would reach the top tier
With astonishing upward mobility.

William Henry Monk (16 March 1823 – 1 March 1889) was an English organist, church musician and music editor who composed popular hymn tunes.
Abide with Me
When the English sun had sunk,
A wistful William Henry Monk,
Reflected, as the daylight died,
And wrote the hymn tune Eventide.
This, his gentle hymn at twilight,
Proved to be his lifetime highlight.
