Bonds Market
Margaret Bonds,
The composer-arranger,
Carried on in her craft
In spite of the danger
That she would be shunned
Because of her race;
She worked and she wrote
With grit and with grace.
She chiefly is known
For the songs she arranged,
But her legacy lies
In the world that she changed.
